Lots For Soldiers is hosting a new group, Silent 22, in an effort to reduce the risk of veteran suicide.
Silent 22 will be meeting on the 22nd of each month from 5-7 p.m. at the Lots For Soldiers office at 112 N. Vine Street, Celina. Veterans are invited to join for conversation and coffee at this monthly “buddy check.”
The support group is named Silent 22 to recognize the estimated 22 veterans that succumb to suicide each day. It is meant to be a safe and supportive place for discussions with veterans facing similar challenges. Veterans from Mercer, Auglaize and Allen Counties are encouraged to take advantage of the support and fellowship offered monthly.
Resources such as housing information, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs assistance, and more will also be available. Family members of veterans or those who have lost a loved one are also welcome to join and share their experiences. For more information and up-to-date meeting times, visit the Facebook page.
